Person-centered Psychotherapy Services for Adults & Adolescents

Does This Sound Like You?

You feel ‘off’ and generally anxious but desire deeper fulfillment and greater connection…

Anxiety

Do you find it difficult to control worry? Are you restless or on edge? Has your worry caused distress in other areas of your life? Has this worry made you easily fatigued or irritable?

Trauma

Have you experienced intrusive thoughts or flashbacks?  Have you found yourself avoiding certain people, places, or things?  Do you feel detached from yourself or others?

Panic

Have you experienced an intense and abrupt surge of fear or discomfort that escalates quickly?  Did you find yourself trembling, nauseous, or feeling like your heart was pounding?

How We Can Help

Psychotherapy

Maybe you grew up trying to meet unrealistic expectations. Maybe your worries and fears have always been dismissed, so you’ve learned to dismiss them, too. Maybe your emotions are bubbling to the surface after being suppressed for too long.

In our work together, we will identify not only the origins but the complex feelings that keep your anxiety alive. Then, we will reshape your experience with these emotions in a way that validates your experiences while learning new ways to engage with them that serves you on an intra- and interpersonal level.

Nature Therapy

“Nature is healing.” In nature-informed therapy, we work with the outdoors as a co-therapist. We begin by exploring your access to nature and eco-identity. You do not need to be a nature enthusiast to benefit from nature-informed therapy.

Nature may inspire your resilience through its own persistence. You may see complexities of yourself reflected in nature and its dualities. Nature may be a way to create mindfulness in your life. In whatever way nature shows up for you, we will work with it as a catalyst for healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Intake sessions are $195 for 50 minutes. Sessions thereafter are $175.

  • We are out of network. This means we accept out-of-pocket payment at the time of service. After each session, we will supply you with a “superbill.” If desired, you can submit this superbill to your insurance directly. The degree to which you are reimbursed depends on your plan’s out-of-network mental healthcare benefits.

  • Paneling with insurance companies can lead to treatment inflexibility (i.e., limited sessions, how long sessions can be, where sessions must be held, etc.). Insurance companies also require diagnoses, which does not align with our practice’s non-pathologizing approach.

While diagnoses can offer relief to make sense of what you are going through, there can be a sense of “wrongness” associated with diagnosed “disorders.” There is nothing wrong with you for wanting differently and better for yourself; in fact, just the opposite.

  • An individual therapy session is 45 to 50 minutes.

  • The answer to this question varies per person, as we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. The relationship between therapist and client is quintessential to positive therapeutic outcomes. We are ever-evolving and constantly processing new experiences. Some are in therapy for 3 to 6 months, while others attend therapy for years. You can collaborate with your therapist to determine what’s best for you.

  • Confidentiality is your right to privacy, i.e., “what is said in this room stays in this room.” However, there are limitations to confidentiality, including (1) if you are of harm to yourself or others, (2) if child or elder abuse is disclosed, (3) and if a court subpoenas your therapist.

Confidentiality not only protects your privacy but assures your therapist is always acting in your best interest. We will review confidentiality and your right to privacy in our intake session
